Shopping Centre Commercial Fit Out
Western Australia, 2018
Kwokka was engaged on a full service to upgrade the core space in regional shopping centre in a popular tourism town, including the design and build of the new fit-out. A full review of the tenancy requirements, current use patterns and contemporary expectations placed on retail centers was necessary, together with a full understanding of the demands and pressures of a busy and growing community.
The analysis indicated that transition zones, pedestrian flow patterns and seating were inappropriate, the holding capacity inadequate, safety and flexibility inhibited by current retail clutter and signage.
Kwokka subsequently re-planned the centre interior, designed and built display panels, tiered shelving, movable community/retail desks and segmented installations (via production division: Urban Fuzz). The installations helped to regulate trolley movement, direct pedestrian flow, provide flexible spaces for community events and incorporated seats, benches, leaning bars, signage and counters.
