Shanghai Yueda Fengxian
China, 2011
The high end European style is manifest through both architecture and landscape. Although a subtle variety of styles is visible in the architecture of the villas, we have used a continuous “language” of details and motifs to unify the project and distinguish it from other projects in Shanghai.
Particular care and attention has been made in creating the correct proportion and scale, particularly throughout the main entry. Sculptural elements are based on those found throughout France, however they will be modified in conjunction with the specialist sculptor to give this project a point of difference and allow residents to feel as though they are residing in a luxurious and special community.
The masterplan incorporates special focus areas including the main entry land bridge, grand gatehouse and formal water garden drive, grand cascade water feature spanning multiple levels (6.4m above the garden level to sunken walkway areas beneath the water), main entry and axis, and individual villa settings.
