How Can Companion Animals, Humans And Wildlife Co-exist?
Western Australia, 2006
The sustainable co-existence of humans and animals has never been more challenging. As we increasing areas of urban development, we both deplete the area of natural habitats and increase the area of artificial environment. Sustainable development for most countries requires increased densities, so what does this mean for the way humans live with their companion animals?
Feline Design Initiative
The 'Feline Design Initiative’ is part of an ongoing study into the implications of increasing pressures on owning companion animals within our urban settings, and generating opportunities for creating pet friendly environments in restricted spaces.
Kwokka has designed and constructed a number of projects for both concept development and research purposes and to identify opportunities for meaningful interaction experience. The long-term performance of these projects has demonstrated it is easily possible to design environments for companion animals that enrich the lives of both the pets and the owners, protect wildlife and also reduce pressure on the environment.
